We’re excited to announce the general availability (GA) of the Ditto MongoDB Connector, a production-ready, enterprise-grade integration that brings native bidirectional sync between Ditto’s Edge Sync Platform and MongoDB.

After a successful public preview period, the connector is now fully supported for production workloads. It’s the recommended solution by MongoDB for organizations currently transitioning off Atlas Device Sync (formerly Realm) ahead of its sunset in September. Whether you’re migrating existing mobile and edge apps or building new ones for retail, hospitality, manufacturing, energy, and more, this release represents a significant step forward in delivering real-time, resilient, and always-on application experiences at scale.

What This Means for Developers

With the MongoDB Connector GA, teams can confidently build applications that leverage the flexibility of MongoDB in the cloud, paired with Ditto’s robust peer-to-peer sync and offline-first architecture at the edge. This means less time worrying about complex sync logic, conflict resolution, or unreliable network conditions—and more time focused on building and migrating features that matter to your users.

The connector integrates directly with Ditto’s Edge Sync Platform and MongoDB’s developer platform, giving developers access to:

  • Native JSON document sync with no transformation overhead
  • CRDT-based conflict resolution for writing to both systems, without the need for complex manual logic
  • Causal consistency, powered by MongoDB change streams
  • Low-latency edge synchronization at real-world scale
  • Comprehensive first-class SDK support across Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, React Native, JavaScript, Rust, and more
  • Offline-first architecture and peer-to-peer mesh networking powered by Ditto’s Edge SDK

Built for Mission-Critical Environments

Whether syncing handheld devices in a store, tablets in a restaurant, or machinery on the factory floor, the MongoDB Connector is designed to handle the realities of unreliable networks, high device density, and low-latency requirements. It ensures that edge devices stay in sync—even when connectivity is intermittent or cloud access is unavailable.

Getting Started

The MongoDB Connector is available to all Ditto customers and active prospects. Developers can dive into the integration today via:

For those migrating off Atlas Device Sync, this connector offers a production-ready path forward—built with the future of distributed edge applications in mind.
