Announcing A New Partnership with Internet Initiative Japan

We’re excited to share some big news from across the Pacific: Ditto has entered into a marketing and implementation partnership with Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ), one of the most respected and well-established technology companies in Japan.

This partnership marks a major step forward for Ditto as we further expand our footprint into one of the world’s most dynamic and tech-savvy regions. With IIJ as our official marketing and implementation partner in Japan, we’re combining our strengths to bring Ditto’s mobile database and offline-first sync technology to even more companies and use cases. In a market that trusts IIJ to consistently deliver innovative, reliable, and performative applications and systems, it’s an honor to have the opportunity to expand their historic legacy.

Powering a Data-Driven Future - Together

Respected by enterprises and government institutions alike, IIJ aims to achieve a data-driven society where data is used to solve complex and varied societal problems. Historically, this has required constant cloud connectivity for people and things that generate data. IIJ has been serving a diverse range of usage environments, providing internet services and mobile accessibility via LoRaWAN®, private LTE, local 5G, Wi-Fi HaLow™, and other services.

However, there are situations in which internet connectivity is unavailable due to communication facility outages, environmental factors, bandwidth congestion, signal obstruction, and more. IIJ recognizes the need to avoid isolation, reconnect as quickly as possible, and use data from areas and sites where the Internet is unavailable in order to maximize the value of real-time data. Ditto solves this problem with peer-to-peer synchronization and mesh networking, enabling resilient connectivity in any environment. This pushes forward the development of business-critical applications that involve data generation or data sharing in environments where connectivity is not always guaranteed such as Restaurant, Retail, Logistics, Aviation, Industrial Automation, Public Sector, and many more.

Why IIJ?

IIJ is a name that carries weight in Japan’s technology scene. Since 1992, they’ve been at the forefront of internet and network services, helping some of the country’s largest and most complex organizations stay connected and secure. Their offerings span cloud computing, systems integration, and mobile access.

IIJ has long embraced new technologies and ideas to solve meaningful challenges for businesses and society alike. That’s a big reason why we’re so excited to work with them.

We didn’t just choose a marketing partner—we chose a mission partner. IIJ shares our belief in the power of distributed systems and the importance of data access in any environment. They understand Japan’s infrastructure challenges and opportunities better than anyone, and they’re deeply committed to helping organizations build resilient systems that work—even when the network doesn’t.

Together, we’re helping Japan take another step toward becoming a fully data-driven society, where information flows freely, securely, and reliably—even in the most challenging environments.
