U.S. Special Operations Command Selects Ditto’s Resilient Edge Data Platform with $17 Million Enterprise-Wide Contract
Competitively Selected APFIT Award Transitions Ditto's Combat-Proven, Server-Optional Platform from Pilots to Enterprise-Wide Fielding Across USSOCOM
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Ditto,the software platform for unstoppable operations, today announced that U.S.Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has awarded the company a $17 millioncontract through the Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of InnovativeTechnologies (APFIT) program. The award funds the enterprise-wide fielding ofthe Ditto platform across USSOCOM, enabling real-time data sharing betweenhumans and autonomous systems operating at the tactical edge, including indenied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) connectivity environments.
The APFIT program, established by theFY2022 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and competitively awarded tosmall businesses and non-traditional defense contractors, was designed toaccelerate the delivery of mission-critical capabilities to the warfighter, transitioning mature technologies from pilots into fielding and production.Ditto's selection reflects three years of close collaboration with SpecialOperations Forces (SOF) end users across multiple USSOCOM components, whichproved both the platform's operational efficacy and its readiness at scale. With that proof now validated across USSOCOM, the Ditto platform is positionedto serve as a model for data-centric warfighting infrastructure across thejoint force.
"Special operations don't pause whenthe network drops, and neither can the data," said Adam Fish, CEO andCo-Founder of Ditto. "That's the entire reason Ditto exists. Crossing intoenterprise fielding with the most demanding operators in the world is theclearest proof I can point to that it works where it matters most."
As adversaries increasingly contest theelectromagnetic spectrum and jam tactical networks, the assumption of apersistent connection has become a liability. Modern special operations dependon the ability to aggregate and act on fused data from a wide range of sources, across personnel, sensors, autonomous systems, and command elements, in highlydynamic and contested environments. The inability to maintain a reliable, consistent Common Operating Picture (COP) in DDIL conditions represents one ofthe most pressing challenges facing joint and special operations forces today.
The Ditto platform addresses thischallenge directly. Unlike legacy architectures that require a persistentserver or cloud connection to function, the Ditto platform operates on apeer-to-peer, server-optional architecture. Devices running Ditto sync directlywith one another, sharing, resolving, and updating data in real time regardlessof network availability. When connectivity is lost or restored, data convergesautomatically with zero data loss.
This approach removes traditional networkdependencies as a single point of failure, enabling warfighters and autonomoussystems alike to maintain data superiority at the tactical edge. The Dittoplatform is transport agnostic ensuring continuity of operations across thefull spectrum of contested network conditions.
"What drew me to serve on Ditto'sGovernment Advisory Board was the platform's operational relevance to thechallenges SOF faces every day," said Rear Adm. Matthew Burns, U.S. Navy(Ret.). "In special operations, the difference between a successfulmission and a failed one often comes down to who has the picture and whodoesn't. The Ditto platform is purpose-built for exactly the kind of contestedenvironments SOF operates in."
"Years of end-user collaboration gotus here," said Eric Hanft, SVP of Public Sector at Ditto. "USSOCOMhas operated alongside the Ditto platform in demanding environments, and thisaward reflects their confidence that it's ready for the enterprise. The workahead is about getting proven capability into the hands of more operators, faster. That's what APFIT was designed to do, and that's exactly what Dittowill deliver."
Awarded through the U.S. Air Force'sBusiness and Enterprise Systems Product Innovation (BESPIN) office, thecontract extends Ditto and BESPIN's initiatives supporting the Air ForceSpecial Operations Command – giving USSOCOM the fastest available path fromproven capability to enterprise-wide deployment.
